After the incredibly tense 2004 Governor’s Race, the closest governor’s race in United States history, Washington State ushered in numerous election reforms that remedied the mistakes made. Watch the counting in action and listen to Thurston County Auditor, Mary Hall, explain the process that ensures the accuracy of our elections.

And the story continues: Washington State Republican Party chair, Jim Walsh, is suing King County Elections over issues of signature verification. Stay tuned to learn more about how vote curing works in a future episode of Elections Explained.
