Hanna Barbera Logo History

HannaBarbera is an American animation studio and production company, which was active from 1957 until its absorption into Warner Bros. Animation in 2001. Founded on July 7, 1957 by Tom and Jerry creators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera, it was headquartered on Cahuenga Blvd from 1960 to 1998, then subsequently at the Sherman Oaks Galleria in Sherman Oaks. In 1958, the studio debuted The Huckleberry Hound Show (their first Emmywinner), followed by The Flintstones (the first prime time animated sitcom) in 1960.

The Yogi Bear Show, Jonny Quest, ScoobyDoo, Where Are You!, the 1973 film Charlotte's Web and The Smurfs soon followed after. HannaBarbera may have usurped Disney as the most successful animation studio in the world, with its characters becoming ubiquitous across different types of media and a myriad of consumer products.[3][4][5] By the 1980s, however, the studio's fortunes were in decline, as the profitability of Saturdaymorning cartoons was eclipsed by weekday afternoon syndication.

Taft Broadcasting acquired HannaBarbera in 1966 and retained ownership until 1991 when Turner Broadcasting System acquired the studio,[6] using the back catalog to establish Cartoon Network the following year.[7][8][9] Before Hanna died in 2001, HannaBarbera as a standalone company was folded into Warner Bros. Animation. The name continues to be used for copyright, marketing and branding purposes for former properties now produced by Warner Bros.

Hanna Barbera Studios Europe
HannaBarbera Studios Europe Ltd. (also known as Great Marlborough Productions), formerly Cartoon Network Development Studio Europe and Cartoon Network Studios Europe, is a British animation studio based in London and owned by the UK division of Warner Bros. International Television Production, a subsidiary of the Warner Bros. Television Group, the television business segment of Warner Bros. Discovery. It is the EMEA arm of Cartoon Network Studios.
On 7 April 2021, WarnerMedia, a predecessor to the currentday Warner Bros Discovery, announced that the studio had rebranded as HannaBarbera Studios Europe, paying tribute to the original American studio, founded by Oscar and Emmy winners William Hanna and Joseph Barbera on 7 July 1957. The HannaBarbera name had previously been revived on some Warner Bros. Animation series and films based on the classic franchises, including from the fifth to thirteenth ScoobyDoo directtovideo animated films, The Jetsons & WWE: RoboWrestleMania!, the 2017 reboot of Wacky Races and Yabba Dabba Dinosaurs.

The first projects to be greenlit under the new name were a new series and a movie relating to The Amazing World of Gumball.
