Hanoi, 2 Cool Things You Must Experience focuses on the top sites of the city you must fully appreciate to get a sense of the soul of the capital. The Old Quarter alone will satiate your craving for a cultural and culinary experience. Hoan Kiem Lake is a haven on the weekend from the chaotic traffic and hustle of the capital city. These two places in my opinion are the most important ones to experience, especially if it's your first time to Hanoi, Vietnam. From shrimp cakes to unique coffees, pho and pho chay, and wonderful traditional desserts like pineapple cake, they're all within a few steps from each other in Hoan Kiem District.
