Hardness testing (Brinell Vickers and Rockwell test method simply explained)

With the Brinell hardness test, a carbide ball is pressed into the material. The indentation surface serves as a measure of the hardness. Vickers hardness testing is performed in the same way, but it uses a pyramidshaped indenter made of diamond. In Rockwell hardness testing, the hardness value is determined on the basis of the indentation depth of a diamond cone or a cemented carbide ball. Learn more about these methods in this video.
