In a highstakes adventure, Batman and Nightwing discover that Poison Ivy and Floronic Man have stolen crucial data from S.T.A.R. Labs about a "BioRestorative Project" related to Swamp Thing. They reluctantly seek Harley Quinn, Ivy's best friend, who's trying to lead a normal life postparole. Nightwing finds Harley working as a waitress, but she initially refuses to help, but after finding Nightwing much attractive compared to his younger days, Harley decides to help him. However, that was only after having fun with him.

Batman investigates the kidnapping of a scientist, Dr. Harold Goldblum, vital to the villains' plan, while Harley, after a personal revelation, agrees to assist Batman and Nightwing. The trio learns that Ivy and Floronic Man intend to unleash a virus to turn humans into plant hybrids, a plan that could devastate all life on Earth.
