→ Join me on my trek to intercept a very special plane — take a guess which one it is in the comments below! We begin after a rather lengthy delay due to an out of service (OOS) aircraft. The OOS call was because of some metal FOD being ingested into the engines while the aircraft was arriving into the gate at IAD. Dispatch rerouted a new A319 from Syracuse, but it would be arriving past the scheduled departure time for this flight to ORD. While all this was going on, people kept abandoning their seats on this flight for a slightly later one (that ended up also being delayed), giving me a wideopen plane to choose literally any seat I pleased! The weather in ORD was much less than ideal, so what do you know? We got a flow time. That means we had to sit in the penalty box for a while before being cleared to depart. But once our penalty was over, we quick skedaddled to runway 30 for departure, and blasted off towards Chicago! We climb over cloudy Virginia, then cruise over West Virginia, Ohio and Indiana before joining the complex arrival pattern into ORD, landing INCREDIBLY smoothly on runway 28C. This is, by far, the smoothest landing I've ever had at ORD. Kudos to the pilots! As ORD always is, our taxi to gate B20 was probably the most indirect route possible, but once we made it to our gate and shut down the engines, it was time to make my way to meet my next flight. You only have to wait a few more days to see what it is! I hope you enjoy this full flight as much as I did, and, as always, all the flight information you could ever desire can be found below!
