This was pretty easy as far as most groundings go. He was stuck enough that he wasn’t getting off on his own, but not so stuck that I struggled to break it free. The two mistakes he made were not letting out enough anchor line (scope) and not having a TowBoat US membership. The first mistake resulted in him dragging anchor and running aground causing him to have to call us for help. The second one caused him to have to pay $1205 out of pocket for that help. That’s 6 YEARS of our toptier membership dues! Now I know I will catch shit from some of you for that price, but I don’t set pricing, and it’s in line with what other service providers charge for nonmembers.
