We tried to reproduce a spectacular and extreme accident: the ultimate head on trains collision of the Geoff Murphy's Under Siege 2 movie action scene and supervised by Richard Yuricich (the visual effects supervisor).
We used 1:87 scale models freight trains and bilevel superliner passengers coaches for the derailment, and a 17 ft long 3D printed bridge, caught on 7 cameras ! Behind the scenes with real shots and raw footage, no CGI !
Casey Ryback (Steven Seagal) escaped just before the trains crashing and derailing ;)
