Hedgehog Diet: Kibble Requirements

Hey everyone! Hedgehog diets are fairly straight forward as long as you get your numbers right. Here is the breakdown you should be looking for in your cat kibbles:

IDEAL
Protein: 30% 33%
Fat: 10% 13%
Fiber: 3% 8%

GENERAL
Protein: 28% 35%
Fat: 8% 15%+ (dependent on the hedgehog)
Fiber: 3% 8%

After you find out whether a food has a guaranteed analysis that works for your hedgehog, checking the ingredients is incredibly important, particularly the first five ingredients. The first five should be whole food ingredients, no corn or byproducts. Be sure to include foods that have healthy grains within them, avoid grain free foods unless they are going in a mix with other foods.

Be sure when creating a mix, that the total average GA of the whole mix is still within a healthy range for your hedgehog.
