Since the beginning of August, the days have been particularly busy for the rescuers of the Peloton de gendarmerie de haute montagne (PGHM) of Chamonix who this Monday, August 8 at 6 pm had already carried out 10 rescue operations, eight in the Mont Blanc massif, and two in the rest of the department. At 6:30 a.m., rescue professionals came to the aid of a mountaineer who had received a stone on his foot before attacking the ascent of the Aiguille de la République by the normal route. Another intervention then took place in the moraine of the needle of the M where a 60yearold man had fallen 10 meters. Polytraumatized, he was evacuated to the hospital of Sallanches. The rescuers then took the direction of the summit of brévent where a tractor and its trailer turned around injuring their driver in both legs.

Other notable rescues include an intervention after a fall while climbing above the refuge of the Lid and a malaise in the steps that lead to the ice cave. The other operations mainly concerned trauma injuries. Rescue that mobilized the crews of the helicopters of the gendarmerie (Choucas 74) and the civil security (Dragon 74).
