NASCAR has a very long history of "innovators", dating back as far as the start of the sport itself. But, typically they required an awful lot of engineering know how that was beyond most of the garage area's capabilities even if they knew what was done to soup up the car.

The 1997 winston allstar race winning Trex car is an exception, however. Utilizing thenadvanced aerodynamic theory and applying it a 3400pound Stock car. The best part of it was, it didn't break any rules and would've been within capabilities of the other teams, just nobody really thought to do it yet.

The apex predator driven by Jeff gordon, thought up by Ray evernham, Rex Stumpf, and 120 other fine folks to create the best competition racing car in the field that day. This is the story of Car #2429. This is the story, Of Trex.
