Rare Disease Report

In this interview with Timothy Craig, DO, Allergy, Immunology, and Respiratory Medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical, Dr Craig talks about the HAE and how much the treatment options have dramatically changed over the past 5 years. (and how the expect to improve more in the upcoming 5 years).

Hereditary Angioedema (HAE) is a rare and potentially lifethreatening genetic condition in which patients can develop HAE ‘attacks’ that include episodes of edema (swelling) in various regions of the body including the hands, feet, face and airway. Swelling in the airway can lead to death by asphyxiation.
