In this episode I provide the history of the Ford Excursion, considered the largest massproduced SUV at the time. It was based on the Ford Super Duty truck lineup that had been redesigned for 1998. The Excursion was immediately panned by critics for being unsafe and wasteful, so much so that after 69,000 sold in its first year of sales for the 2000 model year, sales dropped significantly each year after that, leading to its end in 2005. Today, used examples can sometimes go for over $60,000, as Ford never replaced the Excursion with an equally sized truck.
