As its name suggests, its construction is attributed to the ancient mathematician Heron of Alexandria. It is an interesting mechanism for a Science Fair project for a presentation to students in the field of Engineering, Hydrostatics, Hydrodynamics or Transport Phenomena.
I believe that this device can be used to pump water in a practical application, if it is built with suitable materials on a farm, ranch or farm.
It could for example be built with steel drums and with pvc tubes.
