The Travis County Transformation Project (TCTP) is a pilot program that diverts youth—prearrest—from the criminal legal system into a restorative justice program that repairs harm, rebuilds community, and prevents future violence. TCTP is led by communitybased nonprofits the Excellence and Advancement Foundation (EAF), the Amala Foundation, and LifeWorks, in collaboration with the Travis County District Attorney’s Office, the Juvenile Probation Department, and local law enforcement.
TCTP is a runnerup in the national Children and Youth Resilience Challenge. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) launched the Resilience Challenge as part of President Biden’s Unity Agenda and Mental Health Strategy and an initiative of the HHS Behavioral Health Coordinating Council Subcommittee on Children and Youth. All Resilience Challenge finalists participated in an Innovation Showcase on May 2, 2024. Watch the event recording: • Children and Youth Resilience Summit:... .
