Knoydart, sometimes known as Scotland's last wilderness, is a 55,000acre peninsula located between Loch Nevis (which means heaven, in some Gaelic translations) and Loch Hourn (which means hell). It’s one of mainland Britain's most remote areas and is the only sizeable area in Britain that remains inaccessible to vehicles. It’s accessible only by foot or boat.

Over the next two days, I’ll be hiking a 15mile route alone across the Knoydart Peninsula in the Scottish Highlands from Kinloch Hourn to Inverie, the most remote community on mainland Britain. Inverie is an isolated community and is home to the Old Forge, the UK's most remote pub.
