My solo day hike to Mt Cardigan and its fire tower located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The Holt Trail route to the summit has some extremely steep rock scrambles that are considered to be some of the most difficult in New England. The view from the summit next to the fire tower on Mt Cardigan counts for the “52 With a View” (52WAV) hiking list. The 52 With a View list, created by the Over the Hill Hikers, consists of 52 mountains in New Hampshire with elevations under 4,000 feet but still have amazing views. This video is part of my series where I attempt to find the best day hikes in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. Did I find the best day hike in New Hampshire? One of the top day hikes in New Hampshire at least! Specifically, Mt Cardigan is located near Orange, NH in the White Mountain National Forest.
