The Pieterpad was a trail I'd been looking forward to for a while before starting it, because I was expecting there to be more hikers, as it's probably the most popular long walk in the Netherlands. The Pieterpad spans about 500 km from Pieterburen to the SintPietersberg (Mount Saint Peter) close to Maastricht.

I walked the Pieterpad as part of a bigger adventure:

I went for a long walk (a "thruhike") around the Netherlands, stitching together the Kustpad (Dutch Coastal Path), Pieterpad and Grenslandpad (Borderland Path) to form an 1800 km loop round the country.
