Today we’re spending our final day in Great Smoky Mountains National Park hiking with all five kids. Not all of our kids enjoy hiking, but we always like to push our kids just a little outside their comfort zones.

That being said it was important for us to find short hikes with big payoff and I think Grotto Falls and Clingman’s Dome fit both of the criteria well!

I definitely recommend bringing water shoes along if you hike to Grotto Falls. Our kids absolutely loved wading in the cool mountain water. As for Clingman’s Dome, my biggest takeaway is to take your time geting to the top—the views are worth it!
