From John Lovitz's first line, "Hey cowgirls, see the grass, don't eat it," he perfectly sets up the moment and gives the audience permission to laugh. Kit (Lori Petty) timidly meets the eversoconfident Mae (Madonna) and boisterous Doris (Rosie O'Donnell), who, full of attitude, inform Kit and Dottie (Geena Davis) that they probably aren’t going to make the cut. Dottie quickly proves them wrong.
