HIP is bundled with the AMD toolset ROCm, and you can find out how to install ROCm from https://rocm.docs.amd.com/en/latest/

It is recommended to use one of the supported operating systems to avoid pain with installation. If using the NVIDIA backend for HIP programs you also need to install CUDA. There might be compatibility issues between HIP and CUDA if CUDA has had a major release, so preference an established version of CUDA instead of a bleeding edge one.
