Amateur Historian reacts and breaks down The Last Samurai (2003), more specifically the battle at the end of the movie which is heavily inspired by the Battle of Shiroyama (1877). The movie mashes up the events of two important wars in Japan's history: the Boshin War (18681869) and Satsuma's Rebellion (1877).
