11:47 Video Essay History of Japanese Ambient Music

NOTE That this video has TWO PARTS! ☝☝☝

Being a fan of Ambient (Brian Eno, Harold Budd, Biosphere, Ultimae Records…etc…) its been super cool to see some of these recent reissues from labels like Light in the Attic popping up in record shops in North America.

This was a totally spontaneous quick unboxing of the boxed set I did for fun one day until I realized this had been done before, so the second half is a brief video essay/some rambling about Japanese ambient/Kankyo Ongaku/Green by Hiroshi Yoshimura.. This was pretty self serving as I just wanted to practice making a video that was unplanned… most of this was filmed and edited in one afternoon.

The other big projects I've mentioned are still being worked on, but you can expect some other small stuff like this in the meantime! Japanese Ambient music from this era of the 80's is something I want to try to learn a bit more about before I explore it any further, however.
