This is part 25 of the history of the gyroplane and Expedition Global Eagle.

Expedition Global Eagle was the first attempt at circumnavigation of the world using a gyroplane. The flight was attempted in 2004 by Warrant Officer Barry Jones the "pioneers pioneer" who at the time was a British Army Air Corps helicopter pilot.
