HMS Prince of Wales R09 Details the EMS (Evacuation Marintime System) and suggestions to the maker

This is a video to go with the other two videos I have made about the Royal Navy's HMS Prince of Wales, R09, the second and final Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier. Here those two are:

   • HMS Prince of Wales R09, 2nd RN Queen...   The ship itself
   • HMS Prince of Wales R09 CSG   The ship with all of its escorts

This video focuses on some of the innovations of the carrier itself...like its size, armament, the really innovative Maritime Escape System (MES) which allows six large rafts, each holding 150200 personnel to rapidly evacuate the crew in the event of a need to evacuate the ship.

Of course if the ship is damaged and begins to list very much, they would not be able to use them all, but they have made them so they can rapidly be deployed and filled. And the lare rafts, each almost a small vessel itself, could get away and have ample provisions, power, buoyancy and supplies to sustain the crew that got to these six large evacuation vessels, very adequately. The ship is also equipped with normal, smaller life rafts, each holding 1015 personnel that can be deployed from all around the ship.

A number of suggestions are also included for the model maker, Quality Model Ships:

About making their product better.

These focus on the air wing, the positioning (properly) of the sensors and equipment), the deck equipment (or lack there of), the scale. At 1/300 as opposed to 1/350 scale, the latter of which is the market and not what most buyers have bought for other other ships...along with several other suggestions.

It is my hope that Quality Model Ships can thus improve their product and be led to make a better product, at a better price and better quality, and this be able to improve their position. If they could get this ship into 1/350 scale, and lower the price below $500 to maybe $400 or $40,, they would be able to sell a lot of them...and do the same to their other war ship offerings.

So, in short, Quality Model ships,:

1) Make it 1/350 scale. In the US and around the world 1/350 is by far the preferred larger scale for model collections. Most people will not buy it if it is 1/300 like this.
2) Add a realistic air wing (consider using Shapeways and the 3D shop there called SANFU (https://www.shapeways.com/product/2PF...) for 1/350 scale F35Bs, Trumpeter for Merlin EH101 Helos and MV22 Ospreys.
3) Place the Radar Domes in the proper places
4) Add deck vehicles. rails, sensors, equipment, details as shown and discussed in the video. Do a more thorough study of the ship and its sensors, funnels, decks, radar domes etc. and put them in the right places.
5) Add a hanger deck and make the flight deck and islands so they can be taken off, with four attach points so people can build out the hanger deck and add a lighting system if they want. Advertise this (and the others) as selling points.
7) Add KA Models and/or Fujimi 1/350 scale painted naval personnel, advertise this as a big plus.
8) Fix the S1850M and Artisan 997 radar issues noted..
9) Add the additional smoke funnels shown.
10) Consider adding a (MES) Marine Evacuation System vessel) as shown in an email I send to you.

Thanks for watching this video. It is not my intent to be critical of Quality Ship Models. They gave me a big break on the price and I am trying to help them with the marketing and sale of their product.
