Welcome to Part 1 of our Harry Potter: Hogwarts Legacy playthrough, titled "The Path to Hogwarts." In this episode, we begin our magical journey as we create our character and step into the vast world of wizardry, mystery, and danger. The story begins with an engaging cutscene that sets the stage for our character's journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Our player character is introduced while speaking with Professor Fig as they prepare for departure. Just in time, George Osric, a Ministry of Magic official, Apparates into the scene, joining us on the carriage ride to Hogwarts.

As we soar through the sky, George reveals troubling news from the wizarding world. A rebellion led by the dangerous goblin Ranrok is on the rise, a threat warned about by Professor Fig's late wife, Miriam, who mysteriously passed away after sending George a strange container. Your player character, gifted with a unique sight, notices a mysterious glow coming from the container that others cannot see. As curiosity gets the better of you, you touch the object, which suddenly opens to reveal a portkey. In a twist of fate, before anyone can react, a dragon attacks the carriage, tearing it apart and tragically killing George.

In a heartpounding moment, Professor Fig and your character leap from the wreckage, narrowly escaping the dragon’s fiery breath by Apparating away. You land in a mysterious cave, where the tutorial begins, introducing you to the essential mechanics of the game, such as movement, navigation, and healing with the Wiggenweld Potion. As you and Professor Fig exit the cave, you find yourselves standing on a rugged coastline in the Scottish Highlands, with ancient ruins visible in the distance.

Following Professor Fig, you make your way around the cliffside, where he begins to tell you about ancient magic, a powerful force wielded by only a few. Along the way, you must use your basic spellcasting abilities to break through obstacles, such as a wall of enchanted stone, by casting Basic Cast three times to shatter it. Further along the path, you’ll slide down a ramp and, if you explore thoroughly, find your first chest, which contains a small amount of gold.

Once you rejoin Fig, he uses the Reparo spell to mend a broken bridge, allowing you to cross into the ruins ahead. Upon entering the ruins, you’re introduced to more elements of the magical world, with intriguing murals and statues to investigate. It’s here that things take an even stranger turn. When you come across another enchanted wall, you can see a hidden room through it that Professor Fig cannot. Interacting with a mysterious symbol teleports both you and Fig to the room beyond, revealing it to be a private section of Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

You approach the goblin at the desk, who is taken aback by your arrival and requests vault number 12, along with Miriam’s portkey. What follows is a thrilling ride deep into the heart of Gringotts, where you are led to vault 12, one of the oldest and most secret vaults in existence. The air is thick with mystery as you pass a suspicious Goblin Guard and arrive at the ancient vault, setting the stage for the deeper secrets yet to be uncovered.
