Home Exercise: Neck Half Circle

Today’s exercise is called a Neck half circle. This will help improve the pain free range of motion around your neck and shoulders. A great exercise if you suffer from arthritis in the neck or just general neck stiffness.

Teaching points:

Sit straight in your chair with hands on your laps. (You can do this exercise standing with back straight).
Gentle tilt your head to one side until you feel a stretch.
Slowly roll your head forward, bringing your chin to your chest and hold for 1 second.
Bring your head up to the other side keeping your eyes facing forwards and until you feel the stretch on the opposite side of your neck.
Repeat in the opposite direction and continue 3 times.
