Learn how to change the rear brake pads on a 2007 Honda Goldwing. Like the front, changing the rear brake pads on a Honda Goldwing is very simple. In the case of our machine, there was a decorative plate over the caliper that we had to remove before accessing the caliper, but it came off easily. Then, use a screwdriver to push the pads back and compress the pistons inside the caliper, because you’ll need more room for new pads with lots of braking material. Then, remove the single pin holding the pads in place. Once it’s removed, the pads will just fall out. Then, slide the new pads into place, replace the pin and tighten it to 13 footpounds, and in our case, just replace that decorative plate.

When you’re done, it’s important to pump the brake pedal a couple of times to push the pads towards the rotor, otherwise, you will not get much braking power when you first engage them.
