The biggest mix I've posted on this channel, reserved for the biggest record label in liquid drum & bass history, and as always we drop a brief history lesson. Hospital Records was founded in 1996 by Tony Colman (AKA London Elektricity) and Chris Goss (AKA Chris Goss). Out of Hospital's first 31 releases between 1996 & 2001, 27 of them were produced by London Elektricity, two of them by a drummer called Landslide, one by Marcus Intalex & S.T Files, and another by Danny Byrd. High Contrast joined the gang in 2001 and was set to become one of the most influential artists in their history, dropping his first EP in 2002 "True Colours", and his second EP "High Society" in 2004. Nu:Tone and Cyantific made their debuts in 2003. Logistics and Q Project dropped their first work on Hospital in 2004. S.P.Y was a great example of an artist who passed his grades in Med School and got a permanent position at Hospital, and who can forget Mistabishi, Lmao. In total 38 different artists have all released albums on Hospital and its legendary and often experimental sister label Med School Music, and you can guarantee that figure is set to only rise as Hospital go from strength to strength within the drum & bass industry. Entirely notorious for their liquid flavors in their early years, Hospital are incorporating more styles of drum & bass within their remit, with the likes of Reso, Noisia and Break all having releases on Hospital in more recent times. Long may their philosophy and their approach to the genre continue. This mix takes you through a lot of older classics from the likes of London Elektricity, High Contrast, Nu:Tone, Logistics, we hit the jungle at about 25 minutes so hold tight for that. There's also classics in there from Reso, Cyantific, Subwave, Calibre, CLS, Netsky, Keeno, Etherwood, Commix, Fred V & Grafix, Apex, Tokyo Prose, Q Project and Mistabishi.
