Turkey, with Ankara as the administrative capital and Istanbul as the cultural and economic center, is home to more than 84 million inhabitants in a territory of 783,562 km². Its unique geographical position makes it a bridge between Europe and Asia.
The country's rich history is reflected in its diverse culture, with influences from ancient empires such as the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. The official language is Turkish, while the currency is the Turkish lira (TRY). The predominant religion is Islam, with a significant Christian minority.
The population is concentrated in cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Antalya. The ethnic majority is Turkish, with Kurdish, Arab and Greek minorities. The official language is Turkish, although other languages such as Kurdish and Arabic are spoken in some regions.
Official statistics claim that 4.2% of Turkish women married a foreigner in 2020. The most common countries of origin are: Germany, Syria, Iraq, Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
For their part, Turkish women prefer to emigrate to: Germany, the United States, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium. The main reasons are the search for better economic opportunities, a better standard of living and family reunification.
The swaying anatomies swarm around us, the streets and beaches of Turkey are a true feast for the eyes.
These days the main concerns of Turks are: the economy, inflation, unemployment, security and the situation in Syria.
As for Turkey's friendly countries, they are: Azerbaijan, Qatar, Pakistan, Russia and the European Union. As for enemies, there is no defined enemy, but relations with Greece, Armenia and Cyprus can be tense.
Türkiye finds itself in a complex geopolitical situation. It is a member of NATO and aspires to join the European Union. However, it has to address some challenges such as the situation in Syria, relations with its neighbors and terrorism.
Turkey's economy is one of the largest in the region, with moderate growth in recent years. However, inflation is a major problem.
Regarding immigration, only 1.3% of the workforce in 2023 is made up of foreign workers, mainly from Syria, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

Türkiye is a fascinating country with a rich history and culture. You face some challenges, but you also have many opportunities. Its strategic geographical position and its young population make it an important player in the region.
