HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series is back for its second season and in the fourth episode, the dragons finally go to war. King Aegon II (Tom GlynnCarney) attempts to prove himself on the battlefield with disastrous consequences. He wrecks Criston Cole (Fabien Frankel) and Aemond's (Ewan Mitchell) plan to take Rook's Rest in an attempt to trap and kill one of Rhaenyra's dragons.

The Blacks' King Consort Daemon (Matt Smith) has more dreams and spends more time with the new character Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin). Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) has exhausted every possibility of a peaceful solution and knows war is her only choice. She's forced into a tough decision to send Rhaenys (Eve Best) on her dragon Meleys to meet Cole at Rook's Rest.

Alicent (Olivia Cooke) spends most of the episode trying to make peace with what she learned in her meeting with Rhaenyra. She takes moon tea and lays into Aegon when he complains that his council doesn't listen to him.
