Houthis claimed they used the first domesticallymade hypersonic missile against an Israeli vessel in the Arabian Sea. As per the claims made by the Yemeni rebel group, the missile was used to target a containership far out in the Gulf of Aden..
"For the first time, the Yemeni armed forces used a hypersonic missile of their own production against the Israeli ship MSC SARAH V,” said a Houthi spokesman
Earlier, the Yemeni rebels released footage of a “locally made” hypersonic missile being launched towards the Israeli port city of Eilat. Israeli officials later confirmed that Eilat had been targeted, but indicated that there was no damage or injuries to report.
The suspected attacks follow the departure of the USS Dwight D Eisenhower after an eightmonth deployment in the Middle East.
