In 2012, Apple Maps replaced Google Maps as the default map system on Apple iPhone. Apple Maps used to be a far behind Google Maps but they have made vast improvements and finally implemented a lot of missing features. In ‌iOS 17 Apple ‌Maps can be downloaded so that you can use them offline, which is useful when there is no cellular or WiFi connection.
