Verification Partner: Innovations Inc. partners with a licensed background verification agency or platform authorized to access the EPFO database.

Step 2: UAN Verification Process

UAN Details: The verification agency uses your provided UAN to access the EPFO database.

Data Retrieval: The database retrieves information linked to your UAN, including:

Previous Employers: A list of companies you've previously worked for that were registered under EPFO (remember, not all companies use PF).

Employment Duration: The duration of your employment at each listed company.

Salary Details (Limited): In some cases, with your specific consent, the verification might reveal your salary details at previous companies. However, access to salary information might be limited or unavailable depending on specific settings.

Step 3: Identifying Fake Experience (Example)

Resume vs. UAN Data: Let's say your resume claims 2 years of experience at "SuperCoders," another software company. However, the UAN verification reveals "SuperCoders" is not listed among your previous employers, or the work duration doesn't match your claim. This raises a red flag for Innovations Inc., indicating a potential discrepancy in your experience.
Step 4: Limitations of UAN Verification (Example)

New Startups: Imagine you freelanced for a new startup, "CreativeCoders," which has less than 20 employees and isn't registered under EPFO. UAN verification wouldn't be able to confirm your freelance experience at CreativeCoders because their PF scheme wouldn't exist.

Salary Discrepancy (Unreliable): Even if salary details are accessible, they might not be a foolproof indicator. Maybe you received a lower starting salary at SuperCoders, and your claimed salary at Innovations Inc. reflects your target raise. Here, other verification methods become crucial.

Additional Verification Methods:

Contacting Previous Employers: Innovations Inc. might directly contact the HR department at "SuperCoders" to confirm your employment details and skills.

Education Verification: They might verify your educational qualifications with the universities you mentioned in your resume.

Reference Checks: They might contact the references you provided to get insights into your work ethic, skills, and experience beyond what your resume portrays.
