In our journey thorugh Siberia where Turks live densely, we found traces of Soyot Turks who are outnumbered as a result of assimilation and oppression.
The number of them is not above 5 thousand as they struggle in their own way around the harsh zone.
They live in Okin region of Buryatia, Russia. Soyot Turks still live around Sayan Mountains where the ancient Göktürk Khaganate.
The oldest written source about them dates back to XVII. century.
Their main means of living are deer farming and hunting.
They have lost a part of their civilization and tradition because they assimilated with Buryatians.
Their religion is Shamanism and Buddhism.
The Okin region is a zone where Turk civilization and Moghol civilization come across.
Soyot Turks have been living disconnected from the world, only within the framework of their own lifestyle. Although there is not much known about them, Nazgul Kenzhetay and Emin Karaçak found their village and conveyed their lifestyle to you.
