Even by the standards of FromSoft storytelling, which is deliberately vague and ambiguous, the Promised Consort Radahn storyline in Shadow of the Erdtree is deeply disappointing.

Now there is a clear distinction between narrative and lore. And in this narrative critique, I specifically focus on the narrative shortcomings of having Radahn be Miquella's Promised Consort in the Elden Ring DLC. Unfortunately, there is a complete lack of buildup to finding out the identity of Miquella's promised consort. And Radahn is disconnected from so much of the Shadow of the Erdtree, with his story completely isolated from Messmer, Romina, and other bosses in the DLC.

I can't be the only one who saw that final Miquella cut scene and said, "Wait, that's it?"

Spoilers for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne.
