We jump from the frying pan into the fire when we depart Spokane, Washington during a record setting heat wave and arrive at an even hotter location. We make a detour to visit friends in Hermiston, Oregon, before making it to the Oregon Coast where temperatures plummet to half the maximums we experienced. Even the Mercedes Sprinter Van struggled to keep temperatures below 80.
