I have been wanting an elevated box blind for some time now at the property. The only issue has been that the cost of purchasing one that I liked and worth anything... well... it is always out of my budget. 2022 has not been nice when it comes to high wood prices. I decided that I wanted to build a deer blind this year and wanted to see how cheap I could. My budget was $300. I blew that budget and was still able to design and build for just over $500.
My budget deer blind is 6x6 with a 7' height roof. It is elevated 6 feet off the ground and has a trap door entry. These were the demisinsions I wanted and at the end of the project, I am happy with how the deer blind turned out.
I could have gone out and sourced wood from pallets, etc but I wanted something I could buy from a manufacturer. My budget was not as much as I would have liked but man... did it come out sweet! As wood prices decline, this blind will become even cheaper to build.
I will have some plans that you can download for free once I have them drafted. You will be able to follow step by step and I will be making another one with more instruction starting next season. Be sure to subscribe to follow along.
