How I Changed & Balanced My Motorcycle Tire and Wheel by Hand. This is an easy do it yourself project that can save you a pile of money. Changing a motorcycle tire and wheel by hand is not that difficult as long as you follow some basic steps. First we remove the old tire using some cable ties, then we balance the wheel assembly. After the wheel is balanced then we can install the new tire and balance it together as an assembly. Mounting and balancing tires by hand is a skill you should probably learn if you plan on riding for a while and this knowledge could easily pay for itself with your first tire change.
