It's so easy to terminate your own cat 5e and cat 6 cables, and today I'm going to show you how you can do it yourself with a few simple tools. This is especially helpful if you want to run your own wired security camera system in your home or office or if you just want the fastest connectivity for your network.

0:20 Strip a couple inches of insulation off
0:36 Trim the string from the cable
0:45 Separate pairs of wires out
0:53 Cut plastic separator
0:58 Use sheath we cut off to untwist the four pairs
1:25 Use fingernail to straighten wires
1:37 Line up wires wO O wG B wB G wB B
1:54 Line wires up together
2:07 Cut ends off evenly
2:14 Slide the connector/jack head all the way on to the sheath
2:30 Use Klein crimp tool to crimp wires and trim ends
2:50 Test both ends of the cable
3:10 You're done!
