Follow along with me on a day hike to see how I plan, pack and prepare! This channel is mostly about backpacking, but day hiking is my first love. In this video I'll show you my complete day hiking routine starting with what I do the night before a hike, taking you on the hike itself, and showing you the essential day hiking gear I bring to be sure I'm ready to have a great hike! I'll also share some bonus tips for what to do after a hike! This year here in Washington State there was a record number of rescues of unprepared day hikers and so being prepared is crucial, especially as the weather turns colder.
