To understand why I said that, let’s take an overall look at the front of the Model Y. Many years ago, Elon Musk stated in an interview with MKBHD: “The best part is no part, the best process is no process.” To this day, his company continues to follow this principle, striving to reduce the number of components wherever possible.
This entire front of this vehicle is one piece of cast alloy, aluminum alloy and so it replaces hundreds of individual components inside of the prior model which were welded together.
