This "Laxman Rekhaa' named chalk can be easily seen in every house, and you must have killed numerous cockroaches and ants with the help of it. Let's see how this chalk actually kills those insects.
Ants and cockroaches are generally habitual in dragging their food to their nest. But if you drew a crossing line on the route joining the food source and the nest with this "Lakshman Rekhaa" chalk, the insects will die in around one hour of crossing that line.
When we draw this "Lakshman Rekhaa" line on a surface, 'Cypermethrin' and some other strong contact insecticides spread over that area. These small insects have an extreme ability to smell. Although the ants can easily sense these insecticides, they cross the Lakshman Rekhaa line to reach their nest with some food.
As soon as the ants come in contact with these contact insecticides, neurotoxin cypermethrin blocks the signals traveling in the central nervous system of the ants, which eventually results in paralysis and the ants die within a while.
