How long does it take to get an apostille for an FBI Background Check?

2024 Update: Federal Apostilles take 35 weeks with our expedited apostille service. Most were received in less than three weeks from January to March 2024; however, the government always slows down in the spring, so we estimate 35 weeks to be safe.

Today, I am going to answer the question we hear many times, every day: How long does it take to get an apostille for an FBI Background Check?
If you call the federal authentication’s office, they will tell you about 4 to 6 weeks, which is common; however, services, like ours, are able to get apostilles a little more quickly. In November and December of 2021, we received most apostilles in three to four weeks.
How do we get apostilles faster than others?

1) We ship with overnight delivery to and from the office of authentications, which helps as processed apostilles skip the government mail processing center, which adds a week in some cases.

2) We don’t bundle and ship. Some large apostille agencies bundle all orders and only ship once per week, which means your order may not even get started for a week or longer. We ship almost every single day.

3) We only order FBI background checks from the federal office, so our contacts in DC know that our documents are urgent and tend to get pulled and processed very quickly.

4) Our team in small, and we have all worked together for over ten years. Other agencies have outsourced call centers, warehouse processing centers and temporary employees without much experience. We have been doing this for a long time, so we know how to get things done

If you order with us, we will get your apostille as fast as possible, and then we can ship it overnight or internationally if needed.

Please subscribe and check back often as our goal is to provide quality information and educate the public about translation, apostilles and authentications.
