When you hear the word reflexology, many people think of consensing the entire body down to small regions in the hands and feet.

Although there is no evidence to support that there are map regions of body structures that we can press on the hands and feet to heal us, there are still powerful benefits to stimulating certain body regions. There are actually profound reflexive benefits to stimulating 3 KEY areas in the body. Stimulating these areas can help with relaxation, reduce muscle tension, improve body awareness and help you move better.

Stimulating reflex points can help you move better because how well you move is related to how you sense your body. A key component of how we perceive our body is connected to specific sensory receptors. Specifically, sensory receptors that act as position sensors in muscles, joints, and tendons. They are called proprioceptors, and they tell us where our body is in space.

When we stimulate these receptors with pressure, massage, chiropractor adjustments, or quality movement exercises, they act as a reboot for the central nervous system.
