How to Assemble a Chaplin Fertilizer / Seed Spreader

Follow
Around The County

In order to keep our lawn and pastures in good condition with proper maintenance, we purchased a Chapin commercial grade spreader. The intention is to apply seed and fertilizer. It could possibly apply salt and ice melt as well. This unit will work well to apply Scotts Turf products to give you that strong, deep rich green lawn free of weeds. Your lawn can dominate your neighbors.

I think Chapin could provide better instructions were the part numbers in the instructions match those on the blister packages containing the parts. Many of the bolts as well as the linkage for feed control were far longer than needed. I found I spent far more time ratcheting nuts and bolts tight than I needed. Although the video is 11 minutes, it probably took me 2.5 hours to assemble. I cut 30 minutes of footage where I was reading instruction and looking at the spreader. The spreader seems to be of good quality and has worked well for the 3 bags of fertilizer I have put through it. The only exception is the grills will not stay in place and continually fall into the hopper.

Hopefully this video helps make your assembly quick and simple.
