00:46 Florida Notary applicants must be 18 or older, a legal resident of the state, and have no felony convictions unless your rights have been restored. If you meet the necessary requirements, you are ready to get started.

Here are the important steps it takes to become a Notary Public in FL:
1:04 Get a Notary surety bond. Take a Notary training course.
1:15 Complete the application form which includes your oath of office.
1:20 The form also has an Affidavit of Character section. You’ll need to ask someone who’s known you for more than a year to fill out that part.
1:27 Next, you’ll sign your surety bond form. Your bonding company will provide directions for submitting your Florida application documents as well as the processing fee.
1:44 If the Florida Department of State approves your application, your bonding company will create your Florida Notary commission certificate.
1:53 Buy your Notary seal. Consider getting a few other Notary supplies like a journal.
2:30 Buying Errors & Omissions insurance is completely optional, but it is a step you should consider taking. While Notaries should make every effort to avoid mistakes, if an error is made, having an E&O policy protects you as the Notary.
