How to build a built-in wardrobe | SWR craftsmanship

The roof niche is so slanted that it brings you to your knees. This room, which looks like a tent, has been used as a broom closet. Teresa SchneiderHeinzelmann and Matthias Reck are about to change that. The interior designer and the master carpenter are going to create a usable living space here, starting with a builtin closet.

Their key data are: a room with a hipped roof with an inclination of about 45 degrees.
In addition, clay plastered walls and an oak floor. Also, the walls and floor
are neither straight nor level. So it's clear: nothing off the shelf will fit here. Something tailormade is needed for this sloping roof. The customer wants a fixed installation that provides dustfree space, creates maximum storage space, is flexible and functional, and makes the room feel cozy and comfortable.

A team of six people plans and builds the allrounder in Hohentengen near
Sigmaringen. The idea is a cabinet made of solid ash wood. With open and
and closed elements, combined with different materials and some color
as an eyecatcher. The construction of the unique piece is complex, as is the assembly. The missing straight lines and levels make the installation a tedious task. In the end not a speck of dust should fit between the wall and the cabinet.
