HOWTO:

For this 8th stopover of the lowtech Tour de France, we are building solar water heaters based on fridge recovery!
Objective: to make 5 families autonomous in hot water.

AROUND SUSTAINABLE HOUSING
The production of heat in the home is one of the biggest energy costs. 80% of the energy used is for heating. However, the sun provides us with a large amount of energy every day that we can easily reuse.
At the Grand Moulin de SaintLattier, Eric Lafond, or Rické of his little name, explains how to make thermal solar panels by recovering old refrigerators.
His thermal panels are designed in the same way as those on the market, an insulator and a glass pane sandwich a solar collector through which a heattransfer fluid flows. In our case, the solar collector is the grid found at the back of the refrigerators. The insulation is provided by the doors of these same refrigerators. The glass is recovered on double glazing.

This solution was proposed to us by Eric Lafond.
