Thermostatic radiator valves are a very useful component of your central heating system because of their ability to provide with an additional degree of control over the temperature in your homes.

They greatly enhance heat efficiency because they can be set to only heat up radiators in the rooms you are using. With nonthermostatic radiator valves, even if you are not using certain rooms, the radiators will still heat up. This does not make sense and can add an unnecessary amount onto your heating bills.

With TRVs, you can set them to stay off in rooms that are not being used, therefore avoiding the common issue of heating an empty room.
